Overview of The Product Range
Quarter-turn actuators are used to operate ball, plug or butterfly valves, dampers, shutter valves and any quarter-turn or part-turn device.

For switching or positioning operations
•On-off type:
On-off quarter turn actuators are designed to fully open or close the valve an average of 20 to 30 times per day (up to 360 actuations per hour at peak)
• Class III modulation:
Using a Class III modulating actuator, the valve can be actuated to intermediate positions an average of 360 times per day (1200 actuations per hour at peak) with an accuracy better than 2%. For modulating actuators for higher loads and precision, please see our regulating range catalogue.
For switching or positioning operations
• Weatherproof design
As standard, our actuators are protected by IP67 (NEMA 4) weatherproof enclosures in accordance with CEI 144 recommendations. Higher levels of protection are available on request (please consult us).
• Corrosion resistant design
Our actuators can also be configured to operate in harsh environmental conditions such as: Industrial corrosive atmospheres (chemical, alumina plants, ie) Marine corrosive atmospheres (onshore and offshore)
Main Features
Transmission gear
• The gear transmission system consists of 2 reduction stages: The first stage is directly driven by a pinion on the motor drive shaft and is a planetary system. The second stage, driven by the satellite wheels of the planetary gears, consists of a worm gear and a worm gear.
• Since the planetary system allows high speed reduction with excellent efficiency, subsequent gears are driven at relatively low speeds, ensuring better overall efficiency than common standard gear designs.

Emergency handwheel
• In case of power interruption or failure of the control system, the presence of a handwheel allows the operator to easily manually drive the valve to any desired position.

Mechanical end stop
• Bernard Control actuators are equipped with adjustable mechanical stops to prevent possible overtravel during manual operation.
Position indicator
•Visual position indicator can clearly indicate the current valve position. In fact, this indicator is mechanically connected to the valve shaft.
Travel limit switch
• Thanks to the cam block system, travel limit switch adjustment can be done with only a standard screwdriver. No special tools are required. • Each cam can be set independently of the others.
•The cams are automatically locked in their respective positions, and once adjusted, are not affected by vibration.
Asynchronous motor
• Asynchronous motor technology provides the highest ratio of starting torque to nominal torque. Therefore, the maximum torque capability of the actuator is available to unseat the valve from the beginning of the stroke.
Motor thermal protection
•Built-in motor temperature switch can prevent the motor from overheating.

Removable drive bushing
• The output drive sleeve can be easily removed from the actuator without the use of any special tools to accommodate the valve shaft.
Lubricating
• Gears are designed to ensure a lifetime of grease lubrication, which greatly reduces the need for periodic maintenance

Extensive Control Options
Standard controls (no integrated controls)
The customer provides the control logic to process all data received from the actuator electrical contacts. The mains reversing starter is installed in the customer's own cabinet.
INTEGRAL+ control (A115)
The INTEGRAL+ control system is fully configurable and can perform all actuator control functions including generating status reports, fault handling, protection systems and command processing. It provides local control that can be disabled locally or from a remote location. The reversing starter is integrated in the control unit.
POSIGAM + control
The POSIGAM+ control (actuator of the third category) is based on the same electronic platform as the INTEGRAL+, but includes a positioning function. Proportional signals are used to control the actuator (setpoint) and signal the actual position of the valve (feedback).
